如何包胶方法有二：
一是直接“包胶”
即 TPE 直接注塑包覆在金属表面，不借助任何第三种介质。但这类包胶的实现，与金属件需包胶位置的结构及TPE 的硬度有较大关系。金属件采用整体包胶，或者金属件包胶结构有很大的曲度，或者有孔位等，将强化 TPE 包胶金属件的牢固度；另外 TPE材料硬度越高，将使得 TPE 与金属结合面更紧致牢固。
二是借助粘结剂包胶
实际上更多的 金属包胶 ，是采用局部包胶的。为保证粘结的牢固度，这时就需要借助粘结剂来实现了。具体粘结工序是：先对金属件表面做处理，清理干净表面的灰尘及油污；接下来选用合适的粘结剂，涂抹在金属件表面；待金属件表面的粘结剂变干后，再将金属件固定到模具中，将 TPE 注塑到金属件表面，完成粘结包胶。
分析：若粘结剂还是液体状，就放在模具内注塑，则会将粘结剂从金属件表面清理掉。粘结剂变干，但高温成型时仍要具有粘性，溶剂易挥发的粘结剂是不行的，需要评估选用合适的粘结剂。不过这需要根据 TPE料特性来做相应粘合剂的选取。
